I usually wear hats while at festivals because my hair is a little unruly plus it’s sunny (need a brim) or cold (need a layer for warmth). I found a plain green hat with great color and couldn’t help myself – I had to embellish it! I had a long iron on embellishment with repeating flowers that had great colors against the green so I cut the flowers apart and spread evenly throughout the brim. I secured it with fine tipped E6000 (or B7000).

I looked through my gold options and found a star and moon gold trim. I decided to add it to the top around the edge. After looking at it, the brim was missing something so I took that same trim and cut the top part of it off so there was only 1 line to connect to the brim and glued that around. It needed to be shorted as well to see through.

I then found a gold shimmer ribbon to tie around the hat base and a skinnier shiny leather tie I put on top – I glued both down. When it was done, I thought it looked delicate enough but was still sturdy enough to withhold the harsh playa and festival weather!
