Fall Foliage and Leaf Dresses
A long time friend contacted me asking to create a piece for her. This three photo series is what came from her request. I gathered inspiration from the world around which at that time was classic October autumn leaves. It was perfect out – the leaves JUST changed color a few days before the shoot was scheduled. I went and collected leaves from the larger leafed trees and went to work. Because I was using real material, the outfit had to be made the night before and it turned into a race against time. Upon arrival at the shoot location we made a few tweaks and added the headpiece then went straight to work onset. It was beautiful, I loved the color. Unfortunately, as I knew would happen, the delicate dress started to lose life. It was a crumbling mess by the end but the photos that Cathy Sunu captured were beautiful. Our team was strong, Angel did a great job on the makeup and Lauren became a fall princess in the piece.
The image below was taken in a warehouse in Chicago. The bright light illuminated the leaves, love the bright yellows and oranges and reds!
Below is the last image of the series, it was one of the last photos taken. Notice the crumbling leaves, it was great while it lasted!
