Hair Angels – Editorial with Sherri Jesse
This Hair Angels series was created specifically for an NAHA entry and also for publication submission. The concept was by Sherri Jesse (hair stylist), it was photographed by Chicago’s Jean Sweet and the wardrobe and set was styled/designed by San Francisco avant garde wardrobe designer Jennifer Lynn. We were lucky to not only be published once but twice, you can find this Hair Angels spread in Dark Beauty and as the cover / main spread for How by Hair’s How.
The theme was bonded by the wardrobe color choice – a natural nude – and engulfed in a light sheer mesh to give the look a lighter and airier feel. The wings were made of woven hair through chicken wire. All hair shown are wigs with the exception of the piece below, it was the models natural hair embellished with an extension. Sherri Jesse also did the makeup, a lot of light white for the angelic feel with bold red lips.
Below is one photo from the Dark Beauty editorial that was selected for the NAHA 2014 finals.
Below is the Hot by Hair’s How editorial. It is a hair stylist magazine and you’ll notice the images were processed to be more colorful than the Dark Beauty spread.
Sherri Jesse submitted the Dark Beauty editorial for the Editorial section of the 2014 NAHA awards and was selected as a finalist. We are excited the spread was nominated and thrilled to be part of the recognition. http://probeauty.org/nahagallery/year/2014/editorial/
